Cutting Kenya’s Debt Load; USA Is Willing To Give A Hand.

On 20th May, the President of the Republic of Kenya H.E William Ruto arrived in the United States of America for a three days state visit.

During his visit, the President was engaged in various meetings with bushiness communities including those in Trade and Information Technology and he encouraged them to come and invest in Kenya.

He also gave a speech on Governance and Democratic values, Anti-Corruption And Democracies working together at the Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta Georgia.

In Washigton DC, President Ruto in company of his First lady, they were recieved by USA’s First Lady Jill Biden at the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

At the White House, President Ruto had a round table discussion, and he appreciated President Biden for the resources, his government is investing in the digital space.

President Ruto also affirmed their commitment as a country Kenya to see that peace prevails in Haiti, which is currently destabilized with gang violence. Kenya is expected to send close to 1000 Police Officers.

“Our joint counter-terrorism operations have degraded ISIS [ISIL] and al-Shabab across East Africa, our mutual support for Ukraine has rallied the world to stand behind the UN Charter, and our work together on Haiti is helping pave the way to reduce instability and insecurity,” President Biden said.

The two Heads of State agreed to work together in scaling up investments in Green Energy, Health Manufacturing and the USA government promised to support Kenya in cutting the huge debt load most African countries are grappling with.

Yesterday, Ruto held talks with USA’s former President Barack Obama on the still existing opportunities in Africa, climate change, technology & on peace and security.
