After the announcement of the newly elected president Faye, he appointed his former ally Sonko to be the prime minister for the republic of Senegal.
This has brought questions among analyst on whether this tactic will work for Senegal following the African background of politicians failing to merge for better results and unity after vigorous competition amongst themselves.
His victory was a result of the increasing cases of unemployment which has delayed equal justice , opportunities and progress in Senegal.
Sonko endorsed to campaign with Faye following their release from prison.Together , their partnership successfully yielded progress after Faye being announced as the newly elected president of the Republic of Senegal on 27th march 2024 and sworn in on the 2nd April 2024.
