Prime Minister Nabanjja Stakes her Political Magnet in Kawempe North By Election takes Swipe at National Water as M7 Channels PDM Funds to Wards

Prime minister Robina Nabanjja aka Majegere has scoffed at National Water and Sewerage corporation over the inconsistent water supply in the Kawempe North area.

Hon. Nabanjja, who has been camped in the area since Thursday last week , campaigning for the National Resistance Movement  candidate Farida Nambi, addressing the president at the party flag bearer’s rally held at Kawempe Mbogo,  echoed her  displeasure with National water  after being informed by residents in the area that they have lacked running piped water for the past one months.

she went on to note that several other issues that include; the high number of  Single Mothers in the area, children not going to school , insecurity caused by the lack of roads security lights.

Nabanja, further went on to add that she was on the ground and formulating different groups that will in future benefit from  government programs like PDM to improve their livelihoods.

The president in his remarks  said that politics isn’t  a mere avenue but that cohesion of all aspiring candidate of the same party to come out with a single flag bearer who will eventually be able to comfortable win an election and in so doing find a solution to the areas problems.

Museveni, said that from the beginning NRMO knew how to solve people’s problems and that he was well conversant with the Kawempe area , since he was ambushing vehicles belonging to the Uganda army of the late president Apollo Milton Obote,in Kawanda, Migadde during his bush days.

”If you go to kigogwa, matugga, sanga , where we used to ambush cars , now its flourishing with development like factories that  will create employment , akin to the their bushy past” said Museveni.

Museveni, stated that if the area residents elected good leaders , then issues like lack of tarmacked roads, Kawempe hospital lack of medicines , electricity will persist if you dont elect the right leaders.

He also outlined that importance of Free Primary education that has been decampaigned by some leaders at  the grass roots, citing incidents where children are charged PTA fees for  the same free education wondering what the area member of paliament are doing.

Museveni, implored the voters to elect Farida Nambi, to help him fight this vice.

President Museveni,also announced that the Parish Development Modle (PDM) 100m cash out , for townships like Kawempe North, will be re-channeled from the parish down to the wards, as a way to trickled down to the intended beneficiries .

The Kawempe by elections follow the death of the sitting area MP Hon. Mohammed Segirinya, who died following a long battle with illness.

National Unity Platform’s ( NUP) Nalukoola and Nambi remain the frontrunners in a race that has attracted nine candidates, including Henry Kasacca Mubiru (Democratic Party), Sadat Mukiibi (Forum for Democratic Change), and Ismail Musiitwa (People’s Progressive Party).

Independent candidates include Mohammad Luwemba, a former aide to Ssegirinya, and Moses Nsereko, who lost in NUP’s primaries.

Farida Nambi, is the daughter of the NRMO Vice chairman Al Haji Moses Kigongo, contested for the Kampala Woman member of parliament seat in the last election.
