By TV10 Editorial

Steven Kibwiika, a journalist  working with the Nation Media Group, is fighting for his life after he was throughly thumped by security personnel during a raid led by the leader of Opposition Joel Saenyonyi and the National Unity Platform Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya, at a private property in Nameere Mpererewe , to avert an alleged pre-vote ticking mission there.

Ssenyonyi, using his official security detail with Rubongoya and a bevy of journalists in town, forcefully gainged access into the premises that are linked to the area RDC .

Whilst Hon. Ssenyonyi and Rubongoya, uncondinatedly shouting at the top of their voices , demanded to know what was transpiring in the compound.

The boisterous duo however, at lightening speed were taken aback with a parrarell security detail swing into action and in self defense thumped all those that had trespassed it’s perimeters.

Like manna from heaven an unprecedented bouts of kicks, shovings , batton and gun butt exchanges took center stage as Hon. Ssenyonyi, Rubongoya and his team were evicted.

In the process, sadly the said journalist who was clad on a press jacket was beaten to near pulp.

Following the swift flow of information the melee on social media , a section of opposition politicians informed  the speaker of Parliament Hon.Anita Among Magogo, who in turn wondered if the leader of Opposition was safe.

It should be noted that Hon .Ssenyonyi, has in the recent past been involved in altercations which have led to similar incidences. The Kawempe North by-election climaxes on Thursday, as voters will decide who their next member of Parliament will be.
