Tragic End: NRM Supporter Benjamin Agaba Dies After Setting Himself on Fire

Benjamin Agaba, the NRM supporter who set himself on fire outside Parliament in late February, has tragically passed away at Kiruddu Hospital, where he was receiving treatment for severe burns. This shocking incident occurred on February 26, 2025, when Agaba, feeling desperate and frustrated, doused himself in a flammable liquid and ignited the flames near the entrance of Parliament.

According to reports, Agaba had been seeking help from the NRM party offices for over a year without success, citing neglect and harassment. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat had pledged to provide medical assistance to Agaba after the incident. Unfortunately, despite the efforts to save him, Agaba succumbed to his injuries.
