NAKIVUBO STADIUM READY FOR USE.

The ceremony for its grand opening was commissioned by the President of Uganda his excellence Yoweria Kaguta Museveni on Thursday.

President Museveni said’ right now ,we don’t care who owns which stadium ,what we want are stadiums’ .

He emphasized the need to invest in sports infrastructure ahead of Uganda’s bid to host the Africa cup of nations 2027.

The stadium was given to renowned businessman Ham Kigundu to develop it on a 49- year lease .

The Confederation of African football and the globe soccer governing body ,Fifa did not a prove the stadium to host the African cup of nations due to its strategic location.

That did not stop the president to express his excitement and appaual to Ham for the work done.

Before NRM came into power , the government owned everything .They owned schools,hospitals,hotels, but we said let the private individuals come in.

The president added that many people approached him with proposals but Kiggundu had the conceiving plan.

In Ham’s speech he thank the president for the trust granted to him to develop the stadium.

He said ’when I approached your to ask for your blessings you indeed blessed me.
