Nakawa East MP Dismisses Allegations of NUP’s Planned Rigging in Kawempe North By-Election

Nakawa East MP Hon. Ronald Balimwezo has rejected claims made by Prime Minister Nabbanja and State Minister Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, alleging that the National Unity Platform (NUP) planned to rig the Kawempe North by-election. Barugahara had previously claimed that security forces intercepted 30,000 pre-ticked ballot papers linked to NUP.

Balimwezo, who is affiliated with NUP, has denied these allegations, dismissing them as baseless. As the Chairperson of the Kampala City Roads Committee, Balimwezo has been actively involved in various community development projects.

It’s worth noting that Balimwezo has been a vocal advocate for the development of Nakawa Division and has been recognized for his commitment to public service. However, the allegations made by Barugahara and Prime Minister Nabbanja have sparked controversy and raised concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.
