TRACE Awards City Tour Hits Kampala

This Thursday, February 13, the TRACE Awards City Tour finally arrives in Kampala, thanks to Johnnie Walker, at the chic Noni Vie in Lugogo. This exclusive, invite-only event will bring together Uganda’s biggest names in entertainment for a night filled with music, artistry, and high-energy revelry.

The Kampala stop on this prestigious tour promises to be a vibrant prelude to the TRACE Music Awards, which will take place in Zanzibar on February 26. After thrilling audiences in Johannesburg and Nairobi, the excitement is now reaching a fever pitch as Uganda gets ready to experience the magic.

This event isn’t just about the music—it’s about celebrating Uganda’s own Joshua Baraka, the country’s sole nominee for the 2025 TRACE Music Awards. Baraka has earned a well-deserved nomination in the Best East African Artist category, putting him in the spotlight alongside some of the region’s top acts.

The Kampala tour stop will shine a light on his incredible journey, giving Ugandans a chance to rally behind him as he represents #256 on the continental stage. This is the perfect opportunity for the local music community to show their support as Joshua takes bold steps towards international recognition.

As the platinum sponsor of this year’s TRACE Music Awards, Johnnie Walker is elevating the Kampala stop with a night of bold flavours, immersive entertainment, and unforgettable moments. Guests can look forward to a fusion of music and culture, meet-and-greet sessions with industry heavyweights, and an exclusive glimpse into the creative forces propelling African music to global heights.

Christine Kyokunda, Johnnie Walker Brand Manager for Uganda, shared her excitement ahead of the event:
“All is set for an incredible night. At Johnnie Walker, we’ve pulled out all the stops to celebrate Joshua Baraka for the bold steps he’s taken towards such enviable recognition. But beyond that, we’re here to shine a light on the many other incredible talents across the continent who are making waves in the industry.”

Kyokunda added, “Expect exclusivity, fun, and unforgettable moments.”

The three-hour event kicks off promptly at 6 PM, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable night. With invites already sent out, Kampala’s entertainment elite will gather to witness the magic, all leading up to the grand awards ceremony in Zanzibar.

As the countdown to the TRACE Music Awards continues, this is Uganda’s chance to show up, support Joshua Baraka, and help bring the award home!
