Islamic Development Bank, Uganda Signs Deal For Roads

THE ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK SIGNS $295 MILLIONS TO UGANDA GOVERNMENT TO CONSTRUCT ROADS.

The Islamic development bank has signed $ 295 millions to Ugandan government to construct more roads.

Finance Minister, Matia Kasaija signed the deal with the President of the bank, Muhammad Al Jasser, during the annual Islamic Development Bank meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The projects include the construction of Masindi Port bridge which connects to Renkunye and Apac-Lira road. 

The second project is Kyenjojo-Kihura-Bwizi-Bwamwana -Kahunge road [68km] and Mpare-Bwizi road [37km] which connect to Zamwenge town to Kampala-Fort portal highway.

Kashaija pledged that the Uganda government will fulfill its obligations under the agreement.

The Islamic bank is the third largest multilateral donors contributing mostly in areas like roads, education and schools.
