“I Have Returned Home From a 3-Day State Visit To Kenya…. President Museveni.

“At the invitation of H.E. Ruto. I would like to express my gratitude to His Excellency and to the people of Kenya for the warm welcome and their hospitality, especially for the fruitful bilateral engagements we had in a bid to strengthen the integration of our nations. We are stronger together,” the President said

Through his X account, he furthur revealed that ”  I am grateful to President Ruto for the invitation to discuss important issues affecting our two nations and East Africa. The agreements we signed during my visit carry the weight of historical context, aligning with our long-awaited missions. Over 60 years ago, Africa gained independence, yet the true depth of our historical mission remained unexplored (Uhuru na Umoja).”

While in Kenya yesterday, the President shared his deliberations in Kenya and he said, “I was delighted today , to witness the gradual crystallization of the three historical missions. 1. Prosperity for our people: When His Excellency invites me to Kenya and we sign all these agreements, we are working towards the prosperity of our people, through wealth creation and market access……

2. Strategic Security of Africa through Political Integration and 3. Undungu (brotherhood): If the East African Community (EAC) had done what they were supposed to do, Federation would have been established many years ago. We would have made significant progress and possibly avoided challenges like the poor governance in Uganda, genocides in Rwanda and Burundi, and so on.”

“We must fulfill the historical mission of the EAC by uniting to form the East African Federation, which would make us Africa’s center of gravity. When I travel to any part of Africa, I don’t focus on our differences; instead, I seek our connectedness as one people.” He said.

While in Kenya, the President also engaged with Rt. Hon Raila Odinga on issues pertaining the East African Community and on Raila’s candidature for the African Union Commission.
