Slovakia’s Prime Minister Shot.

The Prime Minister of Solovakia was yesterday shot in the abdomen, in an assassination attempt of the 59 year old.

Robert Fico was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery and news coming in show that the operation was successful.

The President of Slovakia H.E Zuzana Čaputová condemned the act and assured the people of Slovakia that security agencies are going to do their investigations and she also bared people from spreading uninformed information on the assassination of their Premier.

This attack happened in the central Slovakia town of Handlova where Robert Fico had gone for a meeting and bystanders said that the gun man was among the people waiting to great the Prime Minister.

In the short video that was shared on the socials, the Prime Minister is seen being carried away by his handlers into his car and rushed to a near by local hosipital, where he was later flown to Banska by helicopter for major surgery’s and trauma therapies.

The Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Tomáš Taraba said, ” I was very shocked and tried to contact people to figure out how serious his condition was.”

Robert Fico was sworn in as the country’s Prime Minister in October last year for the fourth time. He is internationally known to be anti – America due to his public support for Russia.

After the killing of the 27 year old journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancee Martina Kusnirova in their home in 2018, Robert fico was forced to resign from his position as Prime Minister and he returned in 2023 under his Direction – Social Party that eventually won that election.

In Slovakia, the Prime Minister has more decision making powers than the President and Robert Fico is said to be the strongest politician in a seemingly divided Slovakia.
