NEMA Releases Document Listing Land Titles in Wetlands that are Cancelled and Others Left on Question Marks

NEMA releases a crucial document listing land titles located in wetlands, affecting many areas in Uganda, including Kampala and Wakiso.

Some are canceled some land titles and put others under review. If you live in a wetland area, check this document to see if your plot is listed before it’s too late to avoid future complications.

Recently, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) released a document listing all land titles in wetlands across Uganda. This document shows that many areas, especially in Kampala and Wakiso districts, are in wetlands. These areas are home to many people living in ghettos or slum areas.

A big question many people have is why the Stabex headquarters were left out while other places were demolished.

Imagine what could happen if an accident happen in such a crowded area. NEMA’s actions aim to prevent such dangers by ensuring there is enough space between the petrol reserve and the residents.
