H.E President Kikwete In Uganda.

The former President of Tanzania H.E Jakaya Kikwete is in Uganda for a two days visit. Yesterday he was at Makerere University where he cautioned university students about party politics.

He was the chief guest at the newly inaugural guild leaders summit where he cautioned the newly elected student about the dangers of being affiliated to any party.

He said that they had the same experience in Tanzania where lecturers had started spreading the gospel of the parties they belonged too, and they later realised that it was affecting the leadership of those institutions and they decided to late the students to do their party politics outside university institutions.

He later gave a courtesy visit to the President of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at state house where they discussed issues concerning the East African community and he assured him that he is always welcome to Uganda.

President Kikwete was the fourth President of Tanzania from 2005 – 2015. Before his Presidency, he served as the Minister of Foreign affairs from 1995 – 2005.

He also served as the chairperson of the African Union from 2008 – 2009 and he will be always remembered for his efforts towards the integration of East Africa and Africa at large.
