Pastor Accused Of Plotting Murder To Grab Land

By Mukwaba Katende

A reknowned City Pastor Joseph Ssekisaka, of Eden Miracle Ministries, at Katale Mayanja in Wakiso district is accused of masterminding murder of Lwanyaga Simon Makumbi so as to grab their family land that has over seventy graves which he exhumed to unknown place.

In panic, Simon Lwanyaga, the lawful attorney of Nalubwama Maria Lwiza, who claim ownership of  the land approached TV10 and Mediation Concept Avenue a private organization assisting people with land conflicts, to intervene in a feud between them and Pastor Ssekisaka citing that his life is in fear.

The disputed land is on Block 378, Plot 12, at Katale belonging to the estate of late Anna Bukirwa who died in 1968. The deceased survived with two daughters, Nalubwama Maria Lwiza and Nakigozi Tereza. Later, Nakigozi died childless and Nalubwama kept the title of the land.

Lwanyaga and Nalubwama accused Pastor  Ssekisaka, for conniving with fraudsters including Walonze David, Kasibante Imran, Nankabirwa Moureen and Namagembe Jane, and falsely acquired letters of administration for late Bukirwa’s estate.

They obtained a special certificate of tittle yet the complainant who is the true beneficiary was in the custody of the land tittle.

Nalubwama Maria Lwiza aged 100, and a resident of Kibumbiro village in Mpigi district, after learn t about the fraud, because of her old age, donated powers of attorney to one of his relative Lwanyaga Simon Makumbi for follow up, protect  and represent her interest.

In July 2013, Lwanyaga caveat-ed the land to prohibit  any further activity or registration of the tittle  to any other party. The matter was reported to Nsangi Police Division. Pastor Ssekisaka, Walonze David, Kasibante, Nankabirwa, and Namagembe were also sued in court on charges of fraud.

Despite the land was caveat-ed, and court had granted orders in December last year for both parties to maintain a status quo, Pastor Ssekisaka defied them. He used his connections in the ministry of lands and consented the transfer of the same land to Laban Kwatampola.

In addition, there signs of construction likely to commence soon. Its reported that during the festive season the then Kampala Metropolitan Commander Frank Mwesigwa conducted a meeting on the locus but all in vain.

Lwanyaga and Nalubwama suggest that the registrar of tittles, mailo land registry at Wakiso lands zonal office should also be investigated for his role in the fraud.

They contend that the defendants are not in any way related to the late Ann Bukirwa and their motive was to defraud her estate. TV10 contacted pastor Ssekisaka to clarify on the allegations of forgery however refused to comment saying that the matter is in court, instead referred us to his lawyers.

Lwanyaga is accusing Ssekisaka for entering into an agreement of purchase of land that has a beneficial caveat and exhumed their  site burial which had over 70 graves.

Emerging reports indicate that Pastor Ssekisaka after realizing that Lwanyaga is not giving up on the land he  hired two gunmen to finish him.

The killers who spoke to TV10 on anonymity acknowledge to have been hired by Pastor Ssekisaka’s aide whom they met at his church in Katale for an assassination planned meeting.

In the meeting, they agreed to conduct the mission on a total sum of three hundred million shillings, and were given a deposit of one hundred million. The remaining balance were to be picked at the church when the job is done.

The killers confessed that since August last year, they have been trailing Lwanyaga, and on several  attempts survived because of being escorted by other colleagues whom they didn’t want to kill with him.

When TV10 tasked the killers to prove their allegations they showed us Lwanyaga’s portrait which they claim was given to them by Ssekisaka’s aide. They also showed us GPS coordinates  on which they were trailing him on different intervals.

Pastor Ssekisaka denied allegations of murder, saying that he is the man of God who can’t be part of the mission to take someone’s life.
