Land Has Been Sold, Where Is The Future Of Mozey Radio’s Grave?

The family of the late Ssekibogo Moses alias Mozey Radio, a renowned Ugandan musician, is facing a challenge as the land adjacent to his grave has been sold to a new buyer. The land in question is located near his mother’s house, and there are concerns that the construction activities by the new owner may compromise the integrity of Radio’s resting place.

Radio’s mother has been seeking help from the public to raise 350 million Ugandan shillings to purchase the land and ensure that her son’s grave remains safe. However, with the construction work already underway, there is growing anxiety about the fate of Radio’s final resting place at Kkaga Busiro Wakiso District.

The Ugandan government had promised to develop Mowzey Radio’s burial site into a tourist attraction, which would generate income for his family. This promise was made by the then-Tourism Minister, Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi. However, it appears that the project has stalled, leaving Radio’s mother, Jane Kasubo, uncertain about the future.

It’s worth noting that Uganda has a rich cultural heritage and a growing tourism industry, with popular attractions like Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and the Source of the Nile ¹. Developing Radio’s burial site into a tourist attraction could have been a great way to honor his legacy and provide economic benefits to his family. TV10 has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the sale of the land.
