Koffi Olomidde to Headline Afrigo Band’s Half Century Celebration  at the Millennium Park in Lugogo

Afrigo Band , Uganda’s  best selling and  longest surviving  live band will be celebrating its 5Oth anniversary at the new lugogo based Millennium park on 16th August 2025.
In a presser held at the Sheraton hotel in Kampala, it was confirmed by Ali Allybai, the CEO of Talent Africa the organizers of  the event dubbed  ‘Legends of Sound concert the timeless music legends of Africa’  in its third edition will future celebrated France based Congolese iconic musician Koffi Olomide.  
He went on to add that  ‘’Afrigo Band has been the heartbeat of Uganda’s music scene since the 1970s, blending tradition with modernity, and their songs resonate with the stories of our people — stories of resilience, joy, and celebration. The Legends of Sound: Afrigo@50 concert promises to be a vibrant showcase of this legacy, featuring an all-star lineup of Afrigo veterans who will relay  their timeless hits in a festival-style production’’
It should be noted that the same Talent Africa, was behind the questionable organization and wanting sound that marred the band’s 49th edition fete at the Sheraton hotel that featured  Awilo Longomba, another Congolese iconic musician.
Moses Matovu, the band leader also confirmed that the band will have a full line up of  its star studded singers veterans, including Hon.Rachel Magoola, Joanita Kawalya, Herbert Kigundu, Sarah Namulondo, Charles Busuulwa, Omwana wensenene Ssewanyana among others.
The show will also be sponsored by Stanbic Bank Uganda is through its flagship FlexiPay digital payments platform.
