EC Boss Orders Arrest of Vehicles Without Number Plates in Kawempe North

EC boss Simon Byabakama has ordered security to arrest all vehicles without number plates in Kawempe North, but I couldn’t find the exact date for this operation. However, Byabakama has been actively involved in ensuring a smooth electoral process in the Kawempe North by-elections, scheduled for March 13 2025.

Byabakama emphasized the importance of cooperation from all stakeholders to prevent bribery, violence, and disruptions during the electoral process. He also warned against processions that might disrupt traffic flow and directed that no aspirant should move with more than two vehicles during nominations or while leaving the venue.

In addition, Byabakama highlighted the need for vigilance to prevent ineligible voters from being registered in Kawempe North. He emphasized that only residents born in or living in Kawempe North, as certified by LC1 Chairpersons, will be added to the voters’ register during the update exercise.
