Bobi Wine’s Elder Brother, Chairman Nyanzi Facing The Wrath Of Armed Men

Fred Nyanzi, the Head of Mobilization for the National Unity Platform (NUP), has reportedly been abducted by heavily armed men in Kampala ¹. His brother, Robert Kyagulanyi, confirmed the news on Monday evening, stating that Nyanzi was seized by unknown assailants at Kubbiri Roundabout and taken away in a drone to an undisclosed location.

This incident follows a pattern of arrests and abductions of NUP members, including Rashid Kinobe and Sharif Kiyemba, who were taken by men in plain clothes just hours before Nyanzi’s disappearance.

Nyanzi has been a vocal figure in Ugandan politics, and his abduction has sparked outrage and concern across the country. Human rights organizations and political analysts are calling for an immediate investigation and the safe release of all those abducted.

In a related incident, Nyanzi was previously arrested and injured in Kyenjojo district while on a party assignment. He was reportedly brutally assaulted by police and military officers, resulting in a fractured foot.
