The latest analysis of the 2024-2025 Financial Year government salary structure has uncovered Uganda’s highest-paid government employees, with some individuals taking home over Shs 17 million every month. This amount surpasses the annual earnings of millions of Ugandans.
Top Earners:
Inspector General of Government (IGG): Beti Olive Namisango Kamya Turwomwe, a former minister and opposition presidential candidate, tops the list with a monthly salary of Shs 37 million, translating to Shs 450 million annually.
Auditor General: Comes in second with a monthly salary of Shs 36.1 million.
Deputy Inspector General of Government (D-1GG): Earns Shs 32 million monthly.
Chief Justice: Receives a monthly salary of Shs 26.5 million.
Deputy Chief Justice: Gets Shs 25 million monthly.
Other high-earners include:
Principal Judge: Shs 24 million monthly
Justice of the Supreme Court: Shs 23.5 million monthly
Justice of the Court of Appeal: Shs 23 million monthly
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP): Shs 22.5 million monthly.

The most paid careers are in law, with an average income of Shs 187,075,321, and management and business, with an average income of Shs 156,456,206.
