The New ICT Guidelines.

Earlier this week, the MoICT organized an expert review engagement on the guidelines of the management and protection of Intellectual Property enhancement within Uganda’s ICT sector.

This is because the MoICT recently carried out an Expert Review Engagement of the ICT Intellectual Property Guidelines, to mainly enhance the management and protection of Intellectual Property within Uganda’s ICT sectors.

The ICT guidelines aim to strengthen the legal protection of innovations owned and funded by the MOICT & NG(National Guidance).

These guidelines provide a framework for managing, owning, and commercializing IP rights in contracts between MoICT_Ug and its suppliers to protect different forms of IP in the ICT sector. The National Intellectual

The Property Policy that was passed in 2019, aims to facilitate innovation, productivity, competitiveness, and technology transfer and development in Uganda’s economy .

The MoICT is dedicated to fostering innovation and economic growth by facilitating and adopting Information Technology (IT) innovations nationwide .
