PFF Boss Exposes Luzira Prison Security with Smuggled Audio Device, Prison Officials Claim AI Use

“Ssemujju Reveals Secret Collaboration with Government Officials”

By Dean Lubowa Saava

Maverick Kira Municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has exclusively revealed to this website that they worked with top government officials to smuggle a recording device into prison, allowing their incarcerated leader, Dr. Kizza Besigye, to record an address that was played at the first People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Delegates Conference.

Ssemujju boasted that Besigye is not an ordinary opposition politician, unlike himself and other opposition leaders, and that President Museveni fears him. Ssemujju disclosed that Museveni knows Besigye’s potential and his ability to overthrow his government if left to exercise his political tactics freely.

Ssemujju explained that Besigye is the only politician who has managed to evade security deployed to stop him from moving around, and that Museveni’s security personnel are often surprised to see him mobilizing Ugandans to join him in the struggle.

He confirmed that Besigye has been working with people within the government who are unhappy with Museveni’s leadership and are helping him to prove that he can manage the country.

According to Ssemujju, after the 2001 presidential elections, Besigye realized that his life was in danger and was helped by government officials to escape to South Africa, where he remained in exile until he returned to contest against Museveni in 2006.

Ssemujju, who was elected as the PFF Secretary General, confirmed that the recording played at the PFF delegates conference was recorded from Luzira Upper Prison, where Besigye and his political assistant, Hajji Obed Lutale Kamulegeya, are being detained on charges related to treason.

“Don’t be surprised when we appoint top Museveni government officials in our new government when we take power,” Ssemujju said. “It’s true we are silently cooperating with different individuals, and they have helped us to survive. We are not the first to do that; even Museveni was cooperating with officials in Dr. Milton Obote’s government.”

This website can exclusively report that the recording caught security and intelligence bosses off guard, as many were expecting Besigye to write a dossier that would be read to the delegates by one of their leaders.

However, sources inside Upper Prison claim that the recording device must have been smuggled into Besigye’s cell by a senior prison officer, as they are the ones allowed to interact with him daily. “People are smuggling newspapers, magazines, cigarettes, and other prohibited items into the prison,” a senior prison officer said. “It’s all about money and connections.”

Mukono Municipality legislator Betty Nambooze Bakireke claims that when Besigye was remanded to Luzira in November 2024, Museveni ensured that he was isolated, and new prison bosses were brought in to control him.

However, Afande Frank Baine Mayanja rubbished the claim that a recording device was smuggled into the prison, insisting that the voices were generated using AI technology.

The development comes amid allegations that Besigye and others are planning to assassinate Museveni and cause chaos in the country. Besigye has denied all the allegations, while veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda has insisted that Besigye was planning to kill Museveni after failing to defeat him through elections.
