ULS President Isaac Ssemakadde Takes Refuge at Stella Nyanzi’s Germany Residence to Affirm Forced Exile

The Uganda Law Society president Isaac Ssemakadde , earlier this week flew into Germany to begin his sojourn in forced imposed exile.
SSemakadde, the maverick ULS president who was sentenced to two years imprisonment by justice Musa Sekana, over contempt of court, arising from a case filled by Hashim Mugisha, over undermining the authority of court and discrediting the trial Judge by making offensive posts about him on his X formerly Twitter handle.


The ‘bang the table’ supremo, in the face of this , later sought asylum in Kigali Rwanda, where he was allegedly holding forte until this new destination.
Ssemakadde, was formely welcomed to Germany by his client educationist Stella Nyanzi,, who is also in self imposed exile in the same country.

Earlier this year , the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court has issued an order directing the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to arrest Uganda Law Society President Isaac Ssemakadde from whichever country he is hiding and bring him back home to face trial on charges of insulting the modesty of a woman, particularly the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Jane Frances Abodo.

Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi issued the warrant .
Ssemakadde is a human rights defender in Uganda, and describes himself as an anti-clockwise thinker and legal rebel. He was elected as the President of the Uganda Law Society on September 28, 2024 at the Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo.
