NTLP Implements Countrywide TB and Leprosy Control Activities

The key functions of the Central Unit of NTLP include setting policies, standards, and guidelines, planning, conducting training, ensuring procurement and distribution of drugs and supplies, providing technical support supervision, coordinating with partners, advocating for awareness, monitoring and evaluation, and setting diagnostic and quality standards for laboratories.

The management structure of NTLP consists of central (national), regional (zonal), and district levels. The Program Manager leads the Central Unit, with support from Zonal TB Leprosy Supervisors who oversee activities in their respective zones. At the district level, District TB Leprosy Supervisors ensure the effective implementation of TB and Leprosy control activities.

TB services are integrated into the general healthcare system and decentralised to the community level to promote active community involvement and ownership. The country’s approach to TB control aligns with the Stop TB Partnership and the Global Plan to Stop TB.

Overall, the NTLP is making significant strides in combating TB and Leprosy by ensuring quality diagnosis, treatment, and control activities are carried out effectively across the country. Through partnerships, advocacy, and community involvement, the program is working towards a TB-free future for all.
