The NUP Leadership Visit In Bulange Today.

A group of leaders from the National Unity Platform has today morning paid a courtesy visit to the Buganda government in Bulange, Mengo.

The group was headed by the leader of opposition Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi and the NUP Secretary General ,alongside other leaders within the party.

The Katikiro had a private meeting with the leader of opposition and he also advised them to find ways of solving their misunderstandings as a party in a mature way.

The visit was also intended to show their support on the coming Kabaka Birthday run which is aimed at reducing HIV infections among the people of Buganda.

Buganda is a big contributor to the high HIV/AIDS rates in Uganda. Just here in Kalangala, an Island that is in Buganda Region, 18% of it’s people are HIV positive, making it the only place in Uganda with the highest HIV infections.

The current HIV prevalence rate in Uganda is at 6.2% and the prevalence is higher among females (7.6%) compared to the males (4.7%).

As tv10ganomazima.news, we appreciate the efforts of the Kabaka of Buganda and the Kingdom at large for their efforts in combating HIV in Uganda.
