Kalifah Aganaga: Sparks Controversy with Unprecedented Bid, He Represents Kawempe And Rubaga In The Same Term

Kalifah Aganaga, a Ugandan musician, is making headlines for his interest in representing two constituencies in the same term. This move is unprecedented and has sparked attention. According to reports, Aganaga has expressed his love for whichever constituency he visits, stating it’s his most loved place.

As a musician, Aganaga has built a reputation for his unique style and socially conscious lyrics. His music career spans over a decade, with hits like “Oyitangayo,” “Ndabilawa,” and “Kiboko”. However, his latest endeavor in politics has raised eyebrows, and it remains to be seen how his campaign will unfold.

Kalifah Aganaga, whose real name is Mukiibi Sadat, initially sought to represent Rubaga South in the 2021 general elections under the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket. However, after being denied the nomination, he shifted his focus to Kawempe North when a by-election opportunity arose.

Aganaga has now joined the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party and has been unveiled as their flagbearer for the Kawempe North parliamentary seat. He expressed his enthusiasm for the new role and pledged to champion youth empowerment, improved social services, and enhanced economic opportunities for his constituents.

Interestingly, Aganaga’s entry into politics marks a significant transition from his successful music career. His campaign slogan, “Londa Kalifah Wetukire” (Vote for Kalifah for our betterment), emphasizes his commitment to grassroots development and youth empowerment. As a graduate of Makerere University, Aganaga brings a unique blend of artistic and academic credentials to the political arena.
