Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba As The Commander Defence Forces.

The President of Uganda has appointed his son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the CDF of Uganda People’s Defence Forces, an appointment that shocked so many who thought that the first son would be competing for the Presidency come 2026.

Muhoozi is a well trained army officer, who joined the army in 1999 a-few years after graduating with a BA. in Political Science from Nottingham University.

In 2000, he graduated from the British Army officer training school called the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst.

Throughout his military career, the first son has gone through different army training schools like Kalama Armoured Warfare Training School, the Egyptian Military Academy, the United States Army Command & General staff College and the South African National Defence College.

He served as the commander Special Forces Command from 2008 up to 2017, and he was re appointed again as the commander of the same forces in 2020 to 2021, a few months after he was promoted to the rank of Colonel.

In June 2021, Gen. Muhoozi was again appointed by his father as the commander land forces for Uganda People Defence forces, where he served till October 2022.

A scrutiny Of This Appointment.

The fact is Gen. Muhoozi is a well trained army officer, who was intentionally prepared by his father for all the roles he has served in throughout his career, including his current appointment as the commander of defence forces.

This appointment is a protective move from Museveni after realising that the more he keeps his son idle, the more ambitious he will be for the Presidential seat yet he (Museveni) still wants to enjoy it comfortably.

So this appointment is going to keep the first son busy for quite sometime, which will give his father the time and peace of mind he needs to plan for his exit as the President of the Republic of Uganda because he (Museveni) is currently thinking about his life after the Presidency.
