The Separation of 2Baba and Annie an Iconic Celebrity Marriage

In a surprising turn of events, Nigerian music legend 2Baba (formerly Tuface) and actress Annie Macauley have confirmed their separation after years of marriage. The couple, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most iconic celebrity duos, tied the knot in 2012 and share two daughters. Their union was seen as a symbol of resilience, particularly after overcoming past hurdles.

The news came directly from 2Baba himself. In an Instagram post, he revealed that he and Annie had been living apart for some time and had filed for divorce. Although the initial post was quickly deleted, the singer took to social media again, posting a video to confirm the message, saying, “No one hacked my account, I said what I said, I come in peace.”

This revelation shocked fans, who had long admired the couple’s ability to weather previous challenges. Their wedding in Dubai in 2013 had been a star-studded event, drawing massive attention both in Nigeria and internationally. Despite this, the couple’s latest split has left many heartbroken, especially as they were considered one of the longest-lasting celebrity marriages in Nigeria.

2Baba, whose music has played a pivotal role in popularizing Nigerian Afrobeats globally, is seen as a trailblazer for artists like Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. While the star remains known as 2Baba, he initially rose to fame as Tuface, a name he officially changed in 2014.

Following the post about their separation, the couple also took the dramatic step of unfollowing each other on social media, reinforcing the idea of a clear break between them. The move was seen as a signal that their relationship had reached its end.

In a twist of irony, Annie had been part of the music video for 2Baba’s hit song “African Queen,” where she played his love interest. Their relationship reportedly blossomed from there, but now, their love story seems to be ending in public scrutiny.

Recently, Annie also opened up about the struggles she faced in her marriage, sharing intimate details about a miscarriage and challenges related to her husband’s other relationships on the reality series Young, Famous & African.

Despite the heartache surrounding their split, 2Baba has promised to hold a press conference soon to give more details and provide his side of the story directly to his fans and supporters.
