In a quest to discover new talent in Uganda, TV1O Mazima news ,, has dived into a talent search exploration for emerging artistes.
This week we sat down with Rony Ronio and this is the excerpts of the interview we had with him.
TMZ ; Who is Rony Ronio the human being ?
RONY RONIO is a Ugandan artist by Real names Nsubuga Ronald
TMZ; Who are your parents and do you have any siblings?
I am born to Nakitende Norah and Wasswa Emmanuel on 24th Feb 2003 , at Nakifuma Health Center and also have three siblings.
TMZ; Where did you go to school?
For primary attended little Angels infant school in Mukono then later went to Bishop senior secondary school also in Mukono, then Vision for Africa Institute Kiyunga .
TMZ; When did the music bug begin to mitch you?
I have loved and had a passion for music since my primary school days .
TMZ ; You say that you discovered your music passion at vision for Afrtica High school, is this where you broke through ?
No i discovered my music passion at Bishop SS Mukono then after my s4 2022 I started music in 2023 with my first Song Soldier .
TMZ ; What genre of music do gou do and who is your role model musically?
I do mixed genres which include RnB reggae and some Afro while I am my own role model .
TMZ; Which artistes inspires you in Ugandan and globally?
My inspiration is drawn from the likes Late Paul Kafeero Late Moze Radio and most of the living Vocalists in Uganda.
Then globally it’s Justin Timberlake and Fireboy DML.
TMZ ; How many songs do you have at the moment and where did you record them?
I have basically around 8 released songs
and record my music from Prince Records Kireka .
TMZ ; Have all the songs been produced by the same person and please give us each song title ?
Soldier was produced by pearl One and Samuel zii, Too fyno by Bx and Nessim ,Akayimba by Bx and Artin pro, Wanimba by pearl one and Samuel zii, FOREVER BY FEMI mastered by Anel Tune, Nsonyiwa by Emma King and Samuel Zii, Omwagalwa by Yeah it’s don and Artin Pro.
TMZ ; Do you have any collaboration projects ?
Oh , Yes with John Blaq it’s called omwagalwa.
TMZ ; What was your break through song ?
It is without a doubt Soldier.
TMZ; Which local top artist do you dream to work with that has eluded you ?
My eyes are focused on the immensely talented and sexy Winnie Nwagi and may be Sheebah .
TMZ ; Do you foresee a career in music or you are also pursuing a professional one ?
Of course foresee a super career in music.
TMZ; Does this imply that you are done with formal education ?
No No No , am still at the institute doing a Civil engineering course and this year am going to pursue a diploma in the same field.
TMZ; Oh that is wonderful, the music industry is a perishable one with risks and one needs a fall back career or back up indeed. Are there plans for a listeners launch or concert anytime soon?
Hahahaha not really at the moment but in the near future I will plan something big for my fans.
TMZ ; Are you seeing someone or married perhaps ?
Holly shxt Jesus Christ . I am now alone at the moment .
TMZ ; So who would be your ideal dream partner ?
Hahaha no one yet.
TMZ ; A promising Engineer and artiste surely must have one or which of the current Ugandan female artists would you go with on a blind date?
Hahahah I rather go with a media presenter.
TMZ; Wow a media presenter like who?
Viana Indi.
TMZ ; what is so special about Viana?
I just like her personally .
TMZ ; Where do you envisage yourself musically in the next five years?
It’s only God that knows what my future holds and any successful future plans for he sees what we immortals can not see. abt this n the better plans for me.
TMZ ; What is your final message to your fans and by the way do you have a manager ?
My final message to my fans is let’s love our music and talent show us the love and surpport that we never receive anywhere else but here at home.
