In 1977, Bob Marley was given a pair of boots by Carl Byah, a friend and associate, which allegedly contained a radioactive substance, possibly a toxic chemical or a radioactive isotope, in the toe. The story goes that Byah, who was allegedly a CIA agent or had connections to the agency, gave Marley a pair of boots that had been poisoned or contained a radioactive substance.
