Stanbic Bank Uganda Appoints Paul Muganwa as Executive Director Strengthening Leadership Team

Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited has announced the appointment of Paul Muganwa as an Executive Director, following regulatory approval.
In addition to his current role as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), this new position increases the bank’s number of Executive Directors to three. Muganwa joins Sam Mwogeza, Executive Director of Personal & Private Banking, and Mumba Kenneth Kalifungwa, the Chief Executive Offic

With nearly two decades of experience in banking, both in Uganda and South Africa, Muganwa has been instrumental in the growth of Stanbic Bank Uganda’s CIB franchise. Under his strategic leadership, the bank has strengthened its competitive position in the market over the past three years.

The Board Chair, Damoni Kitabire, expressed confidence in Muganwa’s appointment, emphasizing that it reflects the bank’s commitment to strong leadership and effective succession planning.

“Paul’s appointment is a testament to our dedication to robust leadership and succession planning. His wealth of experience, coupled with exceptional performance and strategic vision, will continue to drive growth and sustain CIB’s market leadership,” Kitabire said.

Chief Executive Mumba Kenneth Kalifungwa also praised Muganwa’s contributions, noting his expertise in corporate finance, capital markets, and investment banking. Kalifungwa added, “Paul’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Stanbic Bank Uganda. His deep expertise in banking remains an asset to our ability to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.
