The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) welcomed two new board members, Dr. Charles Ndandiko and Dr. Isaac Kyaligonza, during an inauguration ceremony on 28 February 2025. The event also honored outgoing members for their service.
Dr. Ndandiko, an expert in public-private partnerships and procurement, has influenced policy reforms in several countries and worked with organizations like UNECA, the World Bank, and AfDB. “I look forward to advancing Uganda’s procurement system,” he said.
Dr. Kyaligonza, with over 25 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, has served in key government roles and aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in Uganda’s public procurement processes.
PPDA Chairman Julius K. Ishungisa and Executive Director Benson Turamye acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing members, Dr. Levi Kabagambe and Dr. David Kiyingi, whose leadership laid the foundation for future reforms.
The new appointments are aligned with PPDA’s 2020/21-2024/25 Strategic Plan, focusing on improving procurement regulations, stakeholder engagement, and institutional capacity. The board is poised to play a key role in advancing Uganda’s development through innovation and policy reform.
