Healingway Group, a Diversified Conglomerate Founded by Hon. Mike Mukula, Rings in 2025 with Strategic Acquisition of Paragon Hospital in Bugolobi
Kampala, Uganda – January 1, 2025 – Healingway Group, a prominent business conglomerate founded by Hon. Mike Mukula, has commenced the new year by announcing the acquisition of Paragon Hospital, a state-of-the-art medical facility located in Bugolobi, Kampala.

This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in Healingway Group’s expansion plans, as it seeks to bolster its presence in Uganda’s rapidly growing healthcare sector. The acquisition is expected to enhance the group’s capabilities in providing high-quality medical services to the Ugandan population.
Paragon Hospital, renowned for its cutting-edge medical technology and exceptional patient care, will continue to operate under its existing brand name. However, the hospital will benefit from Healingway Group’s vast resources, expertise, and network, enabling it to expand its services and improve patient outcomes.

Hon. Mike Mukula, Founder and Chairman of Healingway Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Paragon Hospital into the Healingway Group family. This acquisition aligns with our strategic vision to provide top-notch healthcare services to the people of Uganda. We are committed to investing in the hospital’s infrastructure, technology, and human resources to ensure that it remains a center of excellence in medical care.”
The acquisition of Paragon Hospital is a testament to Healingway Group’s commitment to contributing to Uganda’s economic growth and development. The group’s diversified portfolio includes interests in healthcare, education, real estate, and energy, among other sectors.

As Healingway Group embarks on this new chapter, it is poised to make a significant impact on Uganda’s healthcare landscape, providing access to quality medical services and improving the lives of countless individuals and families.
As Ugandans eagerly await the dawn of 2025, Hon. Capt. George Michael Mukula, aka Mike Mukula, is celebrating a significant milestone – the acquisition of Paragon Hospital in Bugolobi. Mukula, a renowned entrepreneur and politician, has taken residence at the hospital to oversee its operational systems and streamline its management.
Paragon Hospital, which began construction in 2004 and opened its doors in 2007, was previously owned by the Lalobo brothers, William and Obadia. However, their protracted battle for sole ownership had taken a toll on the hospital’s once-exceptional medical care services.
On December 12, 2024, Hon. Mukula announced on his X space that his Healingway Group of Hospitals would be unveiling a major investment project aimed at transforming Uganda’s healthcare system. He emphasized his commitment to delivering specialist services in radiology, oncology, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, IVF, maternal care, trauma, and more.

With the acquisition of Paragon Hospital, Mukula’s Healingway Group is poised to play a pivotal role in Uganda’s healthcare landscape. The hospital, valued at approximately $4 million (9 billion UGX) at its inception in 2007, is expected to undergo significant transformations under Mukula’s stewardship.
So, who is Mike Mukula? A professional pilot, politician, and entrepreneur, Mukula boasts an impressive portfolio. He serves as the NRM Eastern Uganda Vice Chairman, is a former MP, and has a business conglomerate comprising 28 companies with interests in aviation, media, and more. Although he was forced to resign as a minister due to the GAVI funds saga, Mukula has recently declared that his days in elective politics are behind him.
As the dust settles on this significant acquisition, one question remains: will Paragon Hospital retain its brand name, or will Hon. Mukula introduce a new identity? Only time will te
