Police Banned Music Gangs: Pallaso, Alien Skin Engage in Mediation to End Bitter Rivalry

The police’s efforts to address gang-related violence in the entertainment industry are ongoing, with mediation sessions currently underway between Alien Skin and Pallaso at the National Theatre.

Alien Skin and Pallaso are actually involved in an ongoing feud, with Pallaso vowing to seek justice in an assault case involving Alien Skin. The two musicians have been at odds, with reports of violent clashes and property damage.

While there were reports of a mediation session between the two at the National Theatre, I couldn’t find any updates confirming that the mediation is currently underway. However, police investigations into the feud are ongoing, with the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirming that the incident involving Pallaso and Alien Skin is being investigated.

Kampala Metropolitan Police has introduced a new directive aimed at curbing gang-related violence and public disturbances involving local musicians. The move comes after a series of violent incidents, including a recent clash between musicians Alien Skin and Pallaso, which resulted in property damage and vehicle destruction.

Under the new regulations, musicians are no longer allowed to move with more than five individuals, including essential personnel such as a DJ, treasurer, manager, secretary, and one security guard. Any artist found violating this rule will face arrest and further investigation.

The police’s decision is part of a broader strategy to ensure the entertainment industry in Uganda remains safe and free from gang-related violence. Authorities have promised strict enforcement of the new regulations, emphasizing that any musicians found inciting violence or engaging in unlawful activities will face the full force of the law.

Key Provisions of the New Directive:

– Limited Entourage: Musicians can only move with a maximum of five individuals, including essential personnel.

– Essential Personnel Only: Artists can only be accompanied by a DJ, treasurer, manager, secretary, and one security guard.

– Strict Enforcement: Authorities will strictly enforce the new regulations, with violators facing arrest and further investigation.

The police’s efforts to address gang-related violence in the entertainment industry are ongoing, with mediation sessions currently underway between Alien Skin and Pallaso at the National Theatre.
