OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Edu Gaspar Departs as Arsenal Sporting Director

Arsenal Football Club announces that Edu Gaspar has resigned from his position as Sporting Director, effective immediately.

Edu, a former Arsenal player and Invincible, rejoined the club in July 2019 as Technical Director and was promoted to Sporting Director in November 2022. During his tenure, he oversaw men’s, women’s, and academy football, playing a pivotal role in shaping the club’s football strategy.

Edu’s Farewell Message

“This was an incredibly hard decision to make. Arsenal has given me the opportunity to work with amazing people and be part of something special in the club’s history. I thank Stan, Josh, Tim, and Lord Harris for their support. I’ve loved working with colleagues across our teams, especially Mikel, who has become a great friend. Now, it’s time for a new challenge. Arsenal will always remain in my heart. I wish the club and its supporters all the best.”
