Mpuuga Says That The National Unity Platform Is Clueless.

Today morning, the Vice President Of The National Unity Platform Buganda Region held a media briefing after a few weeks of loud silence amidst corruption allegations from his party.

A lot of people have been anxious on Mpuuga’s next move, but today, he assured his supporters and other party members that he is not exiting the National Unity Platform as most Political Analysts had assumed.

On the appointment of General Muhoozi as the CDF of the UPDF, Mpuuga said that his party (NUP) is very clueless about Gen. Museveni’s intentions of turning Uganda into his own dynasty. He also went on to assure Ugandans that he will never be part of any corruption scandal.

As a person who participated in the formation of the National Unity Platform, he encouraged his fellow party members to always find mature mechanisms of resolving their issues as a party.

He said, “When we find ourselves disagreeable in our midst as a party, as change-seeking forces, we must find mechanisms for mature resolution which is different from grandstanding and desire to set political scores at the expense of reputations of comrades with whom we struggle to offer the country better leadership.”

Hon. Mpuuga also clarified that he has no any personal grudge on his President Robert Kyagulanyi, though he is very aware of the ill speech that Kyagulanyi has been spreading about him in funerals and other media platforms.

This clearly brings out Mpuuga’s intentions of taking up the party’s Presidency regardless of the opposition he is currently facing within the party’s top leaders. In this media briefing , he said that if he wishes to seek the party’s leadership, he will go to the party members, not Kagulanyi.

Though it is his democratic right to stand for any leadership position within or outside his party, the Nyendo – Mukungwe member of Parliament has put his party (NUP) on a democracy test which is likely to expose the leadership loopholes in the National Unity Platform.
