Col. Edith Nakalema Loses Beloved Father, She Has Shared On Her X Handle

Briefly About Colonel Edith Nakalema: A Distinguished Ugandan Military Officer

Colonel Edith Nakalema is a highly accomplished Ugandan military officer. Born in Kashaari Village, Mbarara District, she joined the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) in 1999 and rose to the rank of Major in the Special Forces Command.

Nakalema’s educational background is impressive, holding a Diploma in Business Studies from Makerere University Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management from Nkumba University. She also graduated from the Joint Services Command and Staff College in the UK in 2018.

Her career milestones include serving as personal private secretary (PPS) to the President of Uganda in 2014 and later as personal assistant to the president in 2016. Nakalema was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in 2018 and headed the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU). She was further promoted to full Colonel in 2021 and appointed Head of the State House Investor Protection Unit in May 2023.
