TV10 Deep State Political Report
The CIA and MI6 are investigating allegations made by Dr. Kizza Besigye that he was planning to assassinate President Museveni and poison government officials.
The CIA is a vital intelligence agency responsible for collecting and analysing foreign intelligence to protect the USA and its partners. M16 is a British secret intelligence service that collects Britain’s foreign intelligence and provides the government with a global covert capability to promote and defend national security and economic well-being.
Highly placed security sources revealed to TV10 Deep State Political that both intelligence agencies asked Ugandan intelligence to share with them the audio recordings that security operatives claim to have extracted from Besigye’s phone and other relevant ones where he was recorded discussing with arms dealers on how to provide him with weapons that were going to be used in killing Museveni and his men.

The sources said that M16 picked interest because the allegations placed Britain in the middle of the deal to supply weapons to Besigye after it was disclosed that the arms dealer in the saga is a British citizen who leaked the secret information to President Museveni, resulting in the suspect’s kidnapping from Nairobi, Kenya.
Sources added that the CIA picked interest in the matter because it is a security partner to Uganda, and there are also allegations that American citizens were involved in the deal.
This website cannot confirm whether the Americans and British confirmed the authenticity of the recordings after testing them. However, highly placed sources recently told this website that the President was very bitter with operatives who managed the operation because there were a lot of gaps left unfilled when combining the intelligence information they gathered, which embarrassed the country before the international community.
“The President is already cleaning the country’s intelligence circles, especially at the Defence Intelligence and Security (DIS), because people have been using those offices to make money. You heard the changes recently. Even the DIS Director General was demoted,” a senior intelligence officer said.
Sources claim that Besigye’s arrest might have been a deal made by senior security bosses to get money from the President for the operation. As things are progressing now, it will be difficult for the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to rely on the said audio recordings and other evidence extracted from Dr. Besigye and his political assistant Hajji Obed Lutale’s phones because the matter was supposed to be handled before the accused persons were committed to the High Court for trial.
“We don’t know if when the trial starts, the presiding judge will allow our application to use the evidence collected from the accused’s phones. The matter was supposed to be handled before their committal, but we shall see when we reach that bridge,” a senior prosecutor in the office of the DPP said.
Sources added that even the statements made by Besigye’s wife, Winnie Byanyima, after the kidnapping of her husband also forced international intelligence agencies to take an interest in the matter.
Byanyima disclosed that in the room where Besigye was allegedly plotting his moves, there were Bazungu, but it is surprising that they were not arrested and added to the file. It is on this note that Byanyima insisted that her husband was set up.
Veteran investigative journalist Andrew Mwenda insists that if investigations were done, international intelligence agencies might have discovered the truth from the recordings and advised their governments not to comment on the matter because, in previous arrests, the United States of America, Britain, and other European countries have always been very vocal in condemning Besigye’s persecution by the Museveni government.
Mwenda claimed that because Americans and British see National Unity Platform (NUP) principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) as the politician who can command political change against Museveni, he was advised to go slow on Besigye issues, which he did, even though at first, he was very vocal on the matter.

Mwenda boasted that he did investigations on the audio recordings and established that there was truth in them, which is why he defended Besigye’s arrest and prosecution.
“Besigye and his lawyers miscalculated when they fought against him being tried in the Court Martial because if he was tried in the Court Martial, he was going to receive sympathy from the public.
The public would think that he was being persecuted, but in civilian courts, people will continue advising him to wait because he told them it is where he expects to get justice,” Mwenda said.
This website has established that there are no witnesses ready to testify on the said audios, while Besigye’s lawyers, led by Kenyan senior lawyer Martha Karua, insist that the said audios are fake.
In a related development, Besigye’s lawyers have started the move to petition Justice Emmanuel Baguma of the High Court to recuse himself from hearing the next bail application of their clients. Kampala Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago, who is also one of Besigye.
