ANC Expels Jacob Zuma: A Bold Move for Change.

The African National Congress (ANC) has expelled former President Jacob Zuma of South Africa , aiming to distance itself from years of corruption scandals.

Mr Zuma, 82, was an ANC veteran but fell out with the party after he was forced to quit as president in 2018 over corruption scandals. He has always denied any wrongdoing.

The ANC’s disciplinary committee found Mr Zuma guilty of “prejudicing the integrity” of the party by joining uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK), and has given him three weeks to appeal against its ruling.

Why Was Zuma Expelled?

Corruption Allegations

Zuma’s time in office was marked by scandals, especially his ties with the Gupta family, which hurt both his and the ANC’s image.

During that period, he faced charges of fraud, corruption, and money laundering, which damaged public trust.

ANC leaders acted to restore the party’s integrity and regain public confidence.

Internal Pressure occurred when Senior ANC members pushed for accountability and change, which led to his expulsion.

The ANC now is focusing on rebuilding its image and strengthening democracy in South Africa.

Jacob Zuma’s expulsion shows the ANC’s commitment to addressing past issues and moving toward a transparent future, aiming to serve South Africans better.
