Joseph Kiggundu, popularly known as Jose Jobs Link, the promoter behind the recently postponed Uganda Festival in London, has once again found himself at the center of controversy. The event, originally scheduled to take place last weekend with musician-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi (aka Bobi Wine) as the headline act, has been rescheduled to early September. However, uncertainty continues to loom over the festival’s actual execution.
Jobs Link, one of the few remaining active Ugandan event promoters based in the United Kingdom, has a reputation checkered by allegations ranging from deceit and fraud to links with human trafficking through his company. While these claims have not resulted in formal legal consequences, they have cast a long shadow over his professional engagements.
Adding to the doubts surrounding the festival is the shifting political climate in Uganda. Bobi Wine recently confirmed his intention to run in the 2026 presidential elections, making it increasingly unlikely that he would take a publicized “holiday” in London at the onset of the election campaign season. This timing has raised eyebrows, with many speculating whether the festival is more a publicity ploy than a confirmed event.
Jose Jobs Link’s name also surfaced in connection to a 2023 MK Movement event that was planned for the UK. At the time, a controversial document linked him to efforts to host General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, a figure closely tied to Uganda’s ruling establishment. Following backlash from opposition-leaning Ugandans in the diaspora, Jobs Link swiftly distanced himself from the event.
In his defense, he stated:
“The counterfeit document erroneously claimed that JobsLink was in the process of securing rights to host General Muhoozi and his team in the UK, insinuating a connection to the MK Movement. However, JobsLink has categorically disavowed any involvement with this document, asserting that it was fabricated with the intent to tarnish his reputation and public image, as well as to strain his friendship with Robert Kyagulanyi, the NUP principal.”
Further complicating his public image, Jose Jobs Link was also allegedly linked to a human trafficking ring into the UK. These claims, however, appeared to fizzle out without formal investigation or follow-up.
More recently, he made headlines for being aboard Uganda Airlines’ maiden flight to the UK, where he was spotted mingling with CEOs, influencers, DJs, journalists, and other high-profile guests, further fueling speculation about his influential yet polarizing presence within the Ugandan diaspora community.
With the spotlight now firmly on him, the pressure is mounting for Jose Jobs Link to deliver on the rescheduled Bobi Wine London show. Pulling off the event successfully may be his only chance to silence the skeptics and regain credibility.
