His re-election was confirmed during the 101st Elective General Assembly held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Hoima Resort Hotel in Hoima City. The assembly was graced by key dignitaries, including FIFA Regional Office Lead Davis Ndayisenga, Assistant Commissioner for Physical Education Sammy Odongo, and Buganda Kingdom’s Minister for Sports, Youth, and Arts, Oweek Robert Serwanga.
Addressing the delegates after his re-election, Magogo thanked stakeholders for their unwavering support, emphasizing the collective role they’ve played in the sport’s progress:
“It is my great pleasure to congratulate you on the support you have given to football. Both internal and external stakeholders have played a significant role in shaping the trajectory of our sport,” he said.
Reflecting on his 12-year journey at the helm of FUFA since 2013, Magogo highlighted the transformation of Ugandan football—turning once unimaginable goals into routine achievements.
“In 2013, certain things seemed impossible, but today they have become basic. Our success has been defined by the know-how we’ve acquired, the discipline we’ve upheld, and the passion that drives us forward.
Sport – Implementation of the FUFA Technical Master Plan and reform of local competitions.
Business – Enhanced revenue generation, fair compensation, and branding of FUFA.Tournaments – Support for Uganda’s joint bid to host CHAN and AFCON 2027.
Stakeholder Engagement – Inclusive collaboration with football stakeholders.
Consolidation of Achievements – Building on progress to ensure sustainability.
He stressed that hosting international tournaments like CHAN and AFCON would be a turning point for the country:
“With improved infrastructure, now is the right time to drive change and generate more resources. Hosting major tournaments will be transformative for Ugandan football.”
Despite notable progress, Magogo acknowledged lingering challenges such as limited resources, integrity threats, and negative mindsets:
“We must overcome these obstacles to unlock the full potential of Ugandan football and build a brighter future for our sport and our nation.”
With this fourth term, Magogo renews his commitment to professionalizing and commercializing club football while steering Ugandan football to new heights.
