Security Chiefs Close In on Suspects in High-Profile Murders, Including Joan Kagezi’s Assassination.

By GanoMazima Investigative File

According to credible sources, security chiefs from Defense Intelligence and Security, Crime Intelligence, and CID are gathering evidence that could lead to the rearrest of former leader of Bodaboda 2010, Hajji Abdallah Kitata, and the arrest of city lawyers, politicians, and businessmen over the brutal murders of several Ugandans, including Senior State Prosecutor Joan Kagezi.

This development comes after former police officer Nixon Agasiirwe, who was recently arrested in connection with Kagezi’s murder, has been cooperating with detectives under Major Tom Magambo. Sources indicate that Agasiirwe has provided valuable information that has been added to the files, which could lead to more arrests in the coming days.

In a dramatic turn of events, Agasiirwe vowed that he wouldn’t go down alone after learning that his arrest was imminent. Court files reveal that notorious killer Kazahura told detectives how he was hired by Kitata, Agasiirwe, and other senior police officers to kill an Eritrean national identified as Daniel Weldu. During the heist, Weldu’s expensive cars were stolen, and he was forced to transfer over Shs 8 billion from his bank accounts at gunpoint in Agasiirwe’s office in Kololo.

Several lawyers and bank officials who were present during the incident are now being investigated by security agencies. Furthermore, security has obtained information that Kitata was seen driving one of the Land Cruisers that belonged to the late Joan Kagezi around Kampala for over two months before it mysteriously disappeared. Security operatives are now seeking to determine the whereabouts of the vehicle and how Kitata acquired it.

CID operatives are hopeful that Agasiirwe will reveal more information about the brutal murders of Felix Kaweesi, Muhammad Kirumira, Col. Abiraga, and other city sheikhs, which could lead to their arrest.

In a related development, all UPDF guards assigned to Kitata on orders of President Museveni have been withdrawn, except for those guarding Christine Muhooza, who was reportedly Kaweesi’s associate. Muhooza is still under house arrest, reportedly due to her possession of credible information about dirty deals that took place during that time.
