The Kabaka Was Born Today, Joseph Washington a Birthmate Is Super Proud Of It

Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the 36th king of the Kingdom of Buganda, was indeed born on April 13, 1955, at Mulago Hospital in Kampala. Today marks his 70th birthday. Here’s a brief overview of his life:

  • Early Life: He was born to Edward Frederick William David Walugembe Mutebi Luwangula Muteesa II, Kabaka of Buganda, and Nabakyala Sarah Nalule, Omuzaana Kabejja, of the Nkima clan.
  • Education: Kabaka Mutebi II was educated at Budo Junior School, King’s Mead School in Sussex, and Bradfield College. He later attended Magdalene College, Cambridge.
  • Reign: He was proclaimed Kabaka on July 24, 1993, and crowned on July 31, 1993, at Buddo.
  • Family: He is married to Lady Sylvia Nagginda, whom he wed on August 27, 1999, at Saint Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe. They have several children, including Prince Crispin Jjunju Suuna, Princess Joan Tebatagwabwe Nassolo, and Princess Victoria Nkinzi.
  • Philanthropy: Kabaka Mutebi II serves as the UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Ending AIDS among men in Eastern and Southern Africa, focusing on the Buganda Kingdom in Uganda.

As the head of the Buganda kingdom, Kabaka Mutebi II owns various entities, including:

  • Nkuluze Trust
  • Buganda Land Board
  • K2 Telecom
  • BBS Television
  • CBS FM

The kingdom has been involved in various development initiatives, including education and healthcare promotion. Kabaka Mutebi II has also been instrumental in promoting Bugandan culture and heritage.
