Government and Donor Partners Seek Increased Visibility and Climate Action

Kampala, Uganda – The government of Uganda and its donor partners are lobbying for a pavilion at the upcoming COP 30 (Conference of the Parties), seeking to increase the country’s visibility and facilitate dialogue on climate change.

Why a Pavilion Matters

A pavilion at COP 30 would provide Uganda with a platform to showcase its climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts, as well as its commitment to meeting its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Water and Environment Week Highlights

The push for a pavilion comes amidst the ongoing Water and Environment Week in Luzira, where:

  • Day 2 discussions focused on urging developing countries to increase climate financing
  • International stakeholders dominated talks at the Water and Environment conference
