Opposition Leader’s Allegations Spark Tension in Parliament

During the parliamentary session on February 25th, the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, accused the government and its security organs of disrupting and attacking National Unity Platform (NUP) offices. He also mentioned individuals who had been abducted and subsequently released by security forces.

In response, Prime Minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja, refuted the claims, questioning why Hon. Ssenyonyi frequently criticizes and blackmails the government. She emphasized that the government has made significant strides in improving the lives of Ugandans and highlighted that the security forces in question have played a vital role in attracting numerous investors to the country.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Nabbanja addressed a separate issue, stating that she had not been late to the session, despite accusations. She pointed out that her deputy had already arrived before her, refuting any suggestions of tardiness.
