The Iran Blizzard of 1972, also known as the “Great Blizzard of 1972,” was a devastating snowstorm that struck Iran from February 3 to February 9, 1972. It is considered the deadliest snowstorm in recorded history.

The blizzard brought heavy snowfall, high winds, and extremely low temperatures, resulting in catastrophic consequences. The storm lasted for a week, and its impact was felt across a vast area of the country.

Tragically, the blizzard claimed the lives of approximately 4,000 people, with entire villages being buried under the snow. Many rural communities were cut off from the outside world, and rescue efforts were severely hampered by the extreme weather conditions.
