We have obtained exclusive information that Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Ragga Jose or Jose Chameleone, the renowned Ugandan singer currently undergoing treatment for acute pancreatitis at Boston General Hospital in the United States, is scheduled to receive a comprehensive update on his health status on February 1, 2025.
Renowned Ugandan musician Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, is set to receive an update on his health status on February 1, 2025. This revelation comes after his recent visit to Boston General Hospital in the United States for a second review session.

During the visit, Chameleone’s medical team advised him to wait a little longer as they continue to monitor his prognosis to determine whether he will be fit for surgery. Despite having quit intoxicants, including whiskey and cigarettes, the singer’s health remains a concern.

Chameleone’s son, Abba Marcus Mayanja, was spotted reviewing his father’s medical records during the hospital visit, while his manager, Fred Zink, looked on. The singer’s family and team, including his brother Douglas Mayanja (Weasel), have been supporting him throughout his health ordeal.
Efforts are being made to have Chameleone’s mother, Prossy Mayanja, join the caretakers’ team. However, this may be complicated due to her strained relationship with Abba.
Chameleone has been battling health issues for years, including a 2008 incident where he was hospitalized with broken legs after allegedly jumping from a hotel balcony while sleepwalking. He has also been dealing with mild pancreatitis, which was previously funded by President Yoweri Museveni.
The singer’s latest health scare began on December 12, 2024, when he was rushed to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala after experiencing severe pain. His fans and well-wishers are eagerly awaiting positive news about his health on February 1, 2025. Get well soon, Chameleone.
