Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom’s King, Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I, was flown to Kampala for medical treatment today after experiencing flu-like symptoms and a persistent cough. President Museveni dispatched a helicopter for the King’s transport.
The King’s health concerns began on October 14, 2024, when President Museveni sent his personal doctor for assessment. Despite being stable, the King’s symptoms required closer attention. Queen Margaret and royal officials collaborated with the President’s office to ensure top-notch care.
This morning, the King was airlifted to Kampala, accompanied by Queen Margaret, staff, and security personnel.
The assessment was conducted in collaboration with senior members of the Kingdom, including Queen (Omugo) Margaret Karunga Adyeri and other royal officials.
As the King’s cough worsened, the Kingdom’s officials coordinated with the President’s office to link the King’s physicians with government medical experts.
This morning, the President’s helicopter was dispatched to transport the King from Bunyoro to Kampala for better treatment.
The airlift, which landed at Kololo Airstrip in Kampala, saw the King accompanied by Queen Margaret, royal staff, and security personnel.
