In a rare display of affection, President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni exchanged heartfelt messages on social media, leaving Ugandans in awe. The President’s birthday message to his wife on June 24, her 76th birthday, has left her “floored” and grateful.

The First Lady, in a letter shared on social media, described the President as a “gift from God” and expressed her deepest gratitude for his kind words and the celebrations. She confessed that the messages have moved her to tears, laughter, and prayer, filling her heart with joy and appreciation.

President Museveni had earlier praised the First Lady as the “Managing Director of Museveni Incorporated”, the Matriarch of the Museveni Group, and his “God-given comrade-in-arms” of nearly 51 years. He acknowledged her crucial role in raising their family, especially during their exile between 1981 and 1986.
