President Museveni Honours Raisi’s Contribution In His Country, Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe.

H.E the President of Uganda joined the rest of other leaders allover the world to condole with the people of Iran on the demise of their leader, President Ebrahim Raisi who died on 20th May in a helicopter crush.

“When he visited us recently, we finished the government bilateral functions late, as dusk was gathering. However, he insisted on going to the suburbs at night to visit the pro-people projects Iran had constructed. From there, at night, H.E Raisi, a Shia, visited Old Kampala mosque which belongs to the Sunni sect,” the President said.

President Ebrahim Raisolsadat was born on 14th December 1960 in Noghan district. He is a desscemdant of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) through his grandsons; Hassan Ibn Ali and Husayn Ibn Ali, sons of Muhammad’s (P.B.U.H) daughter Fatima.

In His career, Raisi rose through the ranks of Iran’s Judicial system as a prosecutor , deputy Chief Justice and then Chief Justice from 2010 – 2021.

He first ran for President in 2017 on the conservative ticket of the Popular Front Of Islamic Revolution Forces, but he lost to a fellow lawyer and the then seating President, H.E Hassan Rouhani.

He ran for the second time and he was able to win 63 % of the vote and he became the 8th President of the Republic of Iran.

“We could easily see that H.E. Raisi was a dedicated worker and unifier for his Country and for the Tri-continental struggle for justice by Asia, Africa, and Latin America and the peace-loving People of Europe. Small things could even show this,” said President Museveni.

H.E Raisi was seen as the possible successor of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei because throught his judicial career, the third President of Iran and now the current Supreme Leader (Ali Khamenei) had a pertinent role in all his appointments.

Below is a video showing the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei embracing and condoling with Raisi’s only two children.
