Who Will Ascend To The Position Of First Lady In Senegal?

The people of Senegal are very anxious on who President Faye is going to make the country’s official first lady considering that he has two wives.

The 44 year old has always been in company of his two wives during his presidential campaigns and also at the swearing ceremony as the President of the republic of Senegal, making him the first President in Senegal to publicly show both his two wives.

Basirou Diomyo Faye is married to Marie Khone whom he hails with from the same village. Marie has been with the president for 15 years and they have four children.

Absa Faye is the second wife whom he married a year ago with no children yet. Most Senegela women have since regarded Faye’s actions of publicly showing the two ladies as disrespect to the women since polygamy is conventional and brings discrimination to the women.

Both his wives are anticipated to enjoy various privileges like security , access to a presidential budget and other luxuries associated with being wives to the President.

Faye is not the first President to have many wives for instance in South Africa, President Jacob Zuma also had multiple wives.
